Ta Daaaaaaaaa! The third cover for Ally Condie's Matched trilogy.
I see this image and think "Revenge." Not so much Cassia... Then again, Ky did paint Cassia in a red dress at the end of Crossed. I could tell that the color was supposed to be significant since she made a point of mentioning it, but just didn't get the meaning behind it. Evidently the red dress has a role to play in Reached!
What do you think, book lovers?

I saw this and I LOVE it. I like how the first one she's in a bubble, the second one she's breaking the bubble, and with this one she's standing clear of the bubble. I like the red too. To me red speaks of strength and fire.
ReplyDeleteI agree - I think it's awesome how the bubble carried over through all three covers. And I just figured out via Twitter that the three colors of the covers represent the three colors of the tablets. There's all kind of symbolism in these covers!
DeleteHa! Yes, I can see the Revenge aspect in this. I think it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteRevenge was the first thing I thought of! If this is the Cassie of book #3, it's definitely going to get interesting (not that I expected any less :)
DeleteI still need to read this series, but I totally love the covers! The red is so striking! I agree with Juju too, how she's slowly coming out of the bubble is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteKatie! You haven't read Matched yet?? DO IT! And I think Crossed is even better, so hopefully Reached will be the best!
DeleteEeeek I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteDitto :)
DeleteI absolutely adore the covers in this series too. I've only read Matched so far though! I was a little turned off by some of the negative reviews for Crossed, but I still want to read it for myself.
ReplyDeleteReally?? I stopped blogging for about 6 months so I missed any Crossed reviews. I just finished and thought it was WAY better than Matched (which I did enjoy). Give it a shot!!!
DeleteI didn't even know there was any meaning behind the red on the cover. I guess that's what I get for not finishing Crossed.
ReplyDeleteThe red is because of the pills. Green, blue, and red are the color of the pills. Remember?
ReplyDeletewait... is it tablets, or pills?
