Number wise, October was kind of a weird/interesting month for me.
First, my number of monthly posts (11) was pretty low. Ever since I took a loooong break from blogging over the summer, I've had some trouble getting back into the flow of posting regularly. However, I'm not super concerned about that. I never want Book Love to feel like work, so I am perfectly content to just blog when the mood strikes me.
Second, the total number of books I read this month (5) was extremely low! It was actually the fewest that I've read in one month so far this year (except January, also 5).
Third, the 5 books that I did finish were almost all much thicker than my usual reads, so I am guessing that my total page count (2,448) was pretty high in comparison with other months.
Finally, this is the first month where I've actually reviewed 100% of the books that I read.
Book Lovers, I'm curious: Do you keep track of any specific statistics in relation to your blog? Do you set reading and/or blogging goals for yourself? On the flip side, are there any stats that you just try to ignore?

It's been a slow reading month for me, too. I've only posted 6 times this month and read only 2 1/2 books! Much fewer than usual. I am trying to fit in a few short stories now and then though.
ReplyDeleteI don't stress about the numbers. At all. I an fully aware that the number of books I read and review is very low compared to many other book blogs out there. I feel the same as you - I don't want blogging and reading to feel like work. I also remind myself that my job can be a bit crazy at times... resulting in me getting home well after dinner and just wanting to go to sleep! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
I don't stress the numbers either. I try to keep it light and fun :)
ReplyDeleteI try to post 4 times and week and like 1 or 2 of those posts to be a book review. However if I am reading a 500+ page book it's impossible to squeeze in two reviews. And more often than not I post less than I want to. So, I set those goals with the exception that they are just goals and, like you, I want blogging to be fun and never feel like work. I also only allow myself to participate in one meme a week, because I don't want memes taking over my blog!
ReplyDeleteI reviewed 11 books this month, which is a bit below average, but good considering how much work I had too.
ReplyDeleteLearning about everyone's blogging/reading goals and trends is so interesting! I WISH I could post 11 reviews a month, but I just don't think that's in the cards for me. I agree with all of y'all: this is supposed to FUN and it's important to not let it turn into work.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
I also enjoy reading about others' blogging habits. I don't do traditional reviews- I post art that is related to the books I am reading. I've been doing one a week. They are all Young Adult texts so they are fairly easy to finish quickly. However, I've really neglected by blog this week and feeling guilty for some odd reason. Sometimes other things are just more important.
